Default Domain Age from Webconfs' Domain Stat tool

Can someone tell me why the Webconfs' Domain Stat tool obtain the Domain Age from Archive.org?

Does Google also get the Domain Age from the same site, or they do a WHOIS to get the age?

If Google do get the age from Archive.org (Wayback machine), it means we have to get Archive.org to index our site ASAP. If it is a new site, we have to get it to establish the history. My site could have been registered two years old and it wasn't indexed. Google may consider it is a new site when they first index it and would have to go through the "Sandbox effect".

Someone is seriously spamming this forum.. No moderators around?

Anyway - I think the entire age issue, and reborn issue is wacky. I'm not sure I could give you a reliable answer on that one...

Sorry..

I was granted moderator powers by the site owner and I have been going over and deleting spam posts as I find them. It may take a while but we will get it cleaned up. I really hate spam!

Even though the nofollow is in use, it doesn't seem to deter some spammers.

Well to a certain extent you may be correct. There is a difference between SPAMMING (Like advertising gold for sale or video game cheats on this site) and simply having a link placed in your sig like most people do here.

I personally don't care if people use links in their sigs so long as they are using the forum space to help others or get help themselves. But to just blatantly post something that is in no way related to the forum or a topic on a thread is ridiculous.
