Cool Need Directory Submission Guidelines

Well friends today I need your help.I have been trying to get my website submitted to the DMOZ directory for the last 6 months. The submission process is as follows. You read the rules and guidelines and submit your website to the directory manually.Once the submission is done a message is flashed across the screen that reads "Your submission has been approved .It will be reviewed by an administrator before it is added to our list."After this is done another message props up as a hint saying that for quicker reviewing of your website it is advisable that you sign up as an editor to dmoz as the review might take up to 4-6 weeks.Signing up as an editor will get the review done faster.Once you sign up as an editor the message is flashed again saying "your request will be reviewed by an already existing editor before being accepted."This might take upto 4-6 weeks.

As it is I am tired and have lost ideas as to how I could get my website listed on Dmoz. Kindly help me.

Please Note By DMOZ I am also refering to the ODP(open directory project).

DMOZ take times for approval and only good quality website would be approved. so i think we should submit to DMOZ when our site really has good content and pretty good design. hopefully sometime after that our site will be in. if still not there we shouldn't be worry at all.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry that much about getting listed in DMOZ. It's just one link - it won't make or break your site. From what I've heard, it's almost impossible to get listed unless you sign up to be an editor. I have sites I submitted over a year ago with no response.

If you can do select good Pr site which gives you most relevant category for your site. Since they can reject your link if it is not related to your site content theme.

As everyone know Dmoz... is very important to any site but this is tough job to listed bbz there are more than 4 Million sites ,75 Thousand editors - over 5 Million categories here..

So there is many many back log for editors to apporve this process make it very long.

Only way to listed here is read guidelines correctly and obey them

Best of luck..

Default Tips to Free Directory Submission

If the site that you are submitting to a free directory is PR – N/A then I suggest you, don’t submit. It is not going to work, in most cases your links will not be approved. Even submitting pr0 or pr1 sites are pretty useless, because most directories, free or paid sorts their directory listings by the means of PR. So if you have a new website that dose not have sufficient pr then it will go deep in the listings. In most directories those inner pages are not even indexed, so it’s a waste to have your sites listed there. That’s why I always submit my new sites as a featured listings, it comes on top of the categories and get a nice backlinks, and also enjoy some traffic.

Try to submit to newly launched free web directories, as those approves the listings pretty quickly, they don’t even edit your anchor text, so chances are that you can actually have your desired anchor text. The new directories will slowly get pr and traffic, so it’s not a bad investment, and after all it’s free.

Read the FAQ! The rules of different directories are different. I don’t accept adult, gambling, pills etc in my directory, so if I get those I delete and ban them, but others might accept them, so it is always better to read the guidelines before submission, am sure you don’t want your sites to get banned!
